Job Description:

BUSINESS/MARKETING FACULTY

This is a full-time, tenure track, benefited position.

BARGAINING UNIT/NON-UNIT AND CLASSIFICATION: MCCC

ANTICIPATED START DATE: August 2026

SALARY RANGE: Rank: Assistant Professor with a Master’s Degree or Equivalent. Salary range is $60,483 – $65,483. Actual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with the MCCC collective bargaining agreement provisions. This is a 9 month position, paid over 12 months.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Reporting to the Dean of Liberal Arts, this Business and Information Technology Faculty position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including teaching online and in-person various general business and marketing courses, academic advising, and maintaining office hours. Additionally, this faculty member will contribute to program development, curriculum updates, and assessment activities, and actively collaborate with their Business and Information Technology Department colleagues, while actively participating in college committees and meetings.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teaching a wide range of General Business courses, both online and in-person, such as: marketing, introduction to business, personal financial literacy, and business communications;
  • Academic advising for approximately 18 students;
  • Maintaining weekly office hours;
  • Collaborating with the college internship coordinator;
  • Serving on college committees as elected or appointed;
  • Attending regularly scheduled departmental and college meetings;
  • Updating curriculum and contributing to program development;
  • Contributing to program learning outcomes assessment activities and year-end reporting;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE*:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related field;
  • Ability to teach most of the following courses:
    • Introduction to Business,
    • Principles of Marketing,
    • Business Communications,
    • Personal Financial Literacy,
    • Other business courses as programs and schedules develop.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach students with diverse backgrounds and needs;
  • Successful experience teaching college-level business;
  • Evidence of using technology in their pedagogy to enhance the teaching of business;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, faculty colleagues and administrators;
  • Evidence of understanding of the mission of the community college.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three or more years of experience teaching a wide range of undergraduate business courses in a college;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse abilities and academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural composition of community college students, faculty, and staff;
  • Evidence of curriculum development for college business and information technology courses;
  • Demonstrated participation in and commitment to professional development.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: All interviewees will be asked to present a teaching demonstration to the committee.

BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check as a condition of employment.
