Stark State College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor of Justice and Political Studies to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will contribute to the college’s commitment to academic excellence, student success, and community engagement.
Typical Hours/Days of Work: Varied with each semester due to courses and office hours.
Location: Our faculty have the opportunity to instruct in North Canton and Akron Campus.
Pay: $44,244 – $57,516* for a 180 day contract (August-May), commensurate with experience.
*Please note: This role also has the potential for additional Work Outside of Contract (WOC) compensation related to department coordinator duties. A coordinator WOC assignment typically provides an additional $7,908 for the same August–May, 180 day timeframe and would include a course release. Details regarding these responsibilities and expectations will be discussed further during the interview process.

Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in various justice and political studies courses and demonstrates effective communication skills.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment that meets the needs of our student body.
- Implement innovative teaching methodologies and integrate technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment activities.
- Provide academic advisement and support to students.
- Assist with department activities to promote the success of Stark State College.

To be Considered You’ll Need:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student success and the mission of Stark State College.
- Master’s degree in the Political Science, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Justice Studies; OR Master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the listed disciplines. Degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution at the time they were conferred.
