The Department of Music at Washington University in St. Louis seeks a full-time Lecturer to serve as Director of Strings and Chamber Music. The successful candidate will begin in Fall 2025 and will be eligible for renewal and promotion as outlined in the Arts & Sciences Policy on Full-Time Teaching-Track Faculty.

The person in this role will assume a variety of responsibilities related to performance programs in a liberal arts department with active faculty engagement at all levels of undergraduate and graduate instruction and will teach in and coordinate the applied strings division. Duties include: supervising degree recitals and divisional performance classes, teaching applied lessons in their area of specialization and undergraduate lecture courses such as “Musicianship,” coordinating chamber music assignments and schedules, managing teachers in the strings division, advising students, and participating in department governance. The successful candidate will have a strong record of professional performance and creative activity and will show a commitment to furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion. The department will support the successful candidate in pursuing opportunities for professional development during the duration of the position.
