Description:

The Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a non-tenure-track, nine-month renewable Lecturer in Marketing beginning August 1, 2026. Responsibilities include teaching twelve credit hours per semester (four courses); a strong commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence; and serving as faculty lead for the Mocs Marketplace Student Run Business. Additional service assignments and/or committee work for the department, college, and/or university will also be required. This Marketing faculty member is expected to support the Rollins College of Business and UTC’s strategic efforts, as well as events and programs on campus and in the Chattanooga community.

Qualifications:

Successful (Ideal) candidates will possess the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated past success in, or high potential for, exemplary teaching of introductory/advanced courses in marketing. Preferred candidates will have a minimum two years teaching experience. Initial appointment includes teaching Principles of Marketing and Retailing classes. Other courses may be assigned at the undergraduate and graduate level based on departmental and/or college needs.
  • Expected to teach using various instructional modalities, including in-person and online instruction.
  • Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s Strategic Plan.
  • Contribute service based on the needs and strategic priorities of: (i) the Dept. of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, (ii) the Rollins College of Business, and/or (iii) the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).

Minimum Qualifications: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science in Marketing, or closely related field, from an AACSB-accredited business school. Applicants should have at least five years of current professional and/or managerial experience related to the primary teaching area (marketing) outlined above.

The Gary W. Rollins College of Business (RCOB) at UTC has long-standing AACSB accreditation at the undergraduate and graduate levels, serves approximately 2,400 students, and has a highly productive, collegial faculty.
