Position Summary:
Monmouth University’s Department of English is seeking applications for a Lecturer.

For full consideration, applications must be received on or before Friday, January 3, 2025.

This is a 12-month, non-tenure track position for the 2025-2026 academic year and is a two-year initial appointment subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments. The position is renewable and affords faculty opportunities to teach in a variety of areas within the discipline, especially at the general education level. Faculty are also supported in terms of teaching and research via various professional development and funding opportunities.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Doctoral degree, ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion expected by date of employment

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Other Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in English, specializing in 19th- or 20th-Century American Literature, by the date of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Secondary concentrations in Children’s Literature and/or Gender Studies
  • Ability to develop and teach courses that engage with the issues of systemic racism and inequality
  • Ability to teach courses in composition and business/professional writing
