General Description of the Position

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for International Affairs, the incumbent will provide administrative support on behalf of the Office of International Affairs. Services may include but are not limited to providing administrative support in the development of new MOUs and activities for international program growth.

Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Essential Functions
1.Assists the Associate Vice President for International Affairs with all required data reporting
2.Assists international students with issues regarding their living/learning environment.
3.Collects and analyzes data related to the joint programs for analysis reports as assigned.
4.Acts as a liaison between the Office of International Affairs and the academic units where ongoing joint programs reside.
5.Organizes events and activities that occur during regular, evening, and weekend hours.
6.Manage International Affair’s accounts and performs related duties as assigned.
7.International Travels as needed.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities listed below or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1.Experience in composing various levels of correspondence.
2.Experience in the use of word processing and computers, Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
3.Good knowledge and usage of basic grammar and sentence structure.
4.Good oral and written communication skills.

Qualification Standards

1.Education Requirement: Master’s degree, Doctoral Degree preferred.
2.Minimum of 5-year experience in managing university international programs.
3.Minimum of 5-year experience of university international affairs.
4.Speaks one or more foreign languages; foreign country working experiences
5.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
6.Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical manner.
7.Ability to work with diverse student populations.
8.Ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritize duties, and multitask.
9.Ability to work independently and make routine decisions.
10.Ability to comply with federal, state and University regulations and requirements.
11.Excellent oral and written skills in one or more foreign languages.

  1. Demonstrable knowledge of DSU Fundamentals
  2. Demonstrable data entry skills and the ability to update and interpret student data
  3. Demonstrable knowledge of computer and BANNER processes
  4. Follows all university policies and procedures that adhere to student data, information, and FERPA guidelines
  5. Completion and quality of work according to established guidelines and timelines
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills as evidenced by working relationship with co-workers and students.
