Description

Lecturers (NTT) in the Architecture programs within the School of Architecture. Primary responsibilities include instruction in Design Studios, Architecture Systems and/or Environmental theory and design at undergraduate and graduate levels and extended to other lecture courses and seminars on similar subjects.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Examples of Duties

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate students in on-campus or online formats.
  2. Cover teaching in areas of the program such as Design Studios, Building Technology and Environmental Design.
  3. Covering other lecture courses and seminars on similar subjects.
  4. Candidates should exhibit a trajectory on education and the profession.
  5. Support and positively contribute to SIU’s mission of student success and retention through actions and responsibilities within this role.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in architecture or related fields by date of hire.
  2. Evidence of previous effective teaching experience in an Architecture or equivalent 4-year program.
  3. Experience in instruction, collaboration, communications skills, service and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. PhD degree. Previous teaching involvement in architectural field on higher education level.
  2. US Licensed Architect and NCARB Certified
