Job description

The Department of Business seeks a full-time Assistant Professor or Instructor in Accounting and Business to begin teaching in August 2026. Responsibilities include teaching a wide array of accounting and business courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels based on faculty expertise/training and program needs. Faculty are expected to teach in multiple formats, including distance learning, online, and face-to-face; perform department and university service; support student scholarship; and conduct research in their field. Other responsibilities include student advisement, assisting with program and department assessment and development, and supporting student organizations and events. Other duties as required.

SUPERVISION:

The position will report to the chairperson of the McMahon School of Business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A PhD or DBA in Accounting or a related business field is needed to qualify for the Assistant Professor rank. A Master’s degree in Business or Accounting is needed to qualify for the Instructor rank. Applicants who are doctoral degree candidates may be considered for the Assistant Professor position, but if hired and the degree has not been earned by the start of the employment period the initial appointment will be made at the rank (and salary) of Instructor and will only be converted upon documented completion of the degree, in accord with the conditions specified in the offer letter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

CPA certification, as well as expertise in online teaching and Quality Matters, is preferred.

SALARY RANGE:

Commensurate with education and experience.
