Job description

Join Arizona Western College as a Professor of Nursing and prepare the next generation of nurses. Teach, mentor, and guide students in classrooms, labs, and clinical settings while contributing to program development and community health initiatives, empowering students to excel in their nursing careers.

Typical Duties:

  • Serves Students.
  • Teaching Responsibility:
    Teach 15 equated load hours/semester (to include material and preparation time); develop and grade exams and instruments to evaluate student learning and progress; submission of student grades/progress as required by the programs/policies of the Instruction area.
  • College Responsibility:
    Collaborate with division leadership, departmental faculty, colleagues and Curriculum, Assessment, and Scheduling to identify student-leaning outcomes (SLOs); develop assessment processes and tools; incorporate results to enhance/modify instruction and material, degree program, course cluster, and/or certificate program as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in the discipline or a master’s degree in any discipline with a bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Two years’ experience as an RN providing direct patient care
  • Meet qualifications as outlined under institutional procedure, Faculty Credentials

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in nursing preferred, but not required
  • Hold or be eligible for an Arizona Registered Nurse’s License
  • Experience teaching in a community college preferred, but not required; experience must be demonstrated on application materials
  • Arizona Driver’s License or Equivalent

Salary:
$73,081- $77,466 per year, depending on experience.
