Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost, Loudoun Campus. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the Administrative Council, the Provost is the chief administrative officer of the Loudoun Campus and provides strategic leadership for campus operations, student success, enrollment, community engagement, resource stewardship, and planning.

The Provost will:

  • Shape the future of the Loudoun Campus, aligning campus priorities, resources, programs, and operations with NOVA and Virginia Community College System strategic goals.
  • Drive enrollment and student success, leading efforts to strengthen access, retention, completion, and post-completion outcomes.
  • Build a thriving campus community, developing and supporting talented leaders and employees while fostering an engaged, student-ready culture.
  • Serve as a key external ambassador, cultivating partnerships with employers, school divisions, community organizations, elected officials, and other regional stakeholders.
  • Influence collegewide strategy as a member of the President’s Administrative Council, bringing the perspective and priorities of the Loudoun Campus to institutional decision-making.

Leadership Priorities
The next Provost will provide strategic oversight of campus planning, operations, facilities, safety, budgets, and resource allocation while ensuring that resources are aligned with institutional priorities. The Provost will lead efforts to sustain and grow enrollment and improve student outcomes; recruit, develop, and mentor campus leadership and employees; and strengthen relationships throughout the region.

Equally important, the Provost will serve as a collaborative collegewide leader, contributing to initiatives that advance the strategic priorities of NOVA and the Virginia Community College System.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess:

  • An earned doctorate from an accredited college or university.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a community college and/or university setting.
  • Teaching experience at the community college or university level.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change and complex initiatives, using data and evidence to inform decisions, and building productive relationships with external partners.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and commitment to student access, retention, completion, and post-completion success.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and strategic leader who can navigate complex organizations, build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups, exercise sound fiscal stewardship, and develop strong internal and external partnerships.
