Job Description:
Mount Holyoke College seeks a collaborative and creative Research & Instruction Librarian to support teaching, research, and information literacy across the campus community. As part of the Research and Instructional Support team within Library, Information, & Technology Services (LITS), this role partners with faculty and students to strengthen research skills, develop library collections, and contribute to an engaging academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach research and information literacy sessions across disciplines.
- Provide one-on-one research consultations for students and support for faculty research assignments and projects.
- Develop and manage subject-based library collections in collaboration with faculty.
- Offer workshops and co-curricular programming on research, information literacy, and related topics.
- Participate in outreach, campus programming, and library, college, or consortium committees.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse communities.
- Commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Experience in research support, teaching, or libraries preferred.
Education
- ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS (or equivalent), or an advanced degree with significant professional library experience.
- Candidates nearing completion of an MLS/MLIS are encouraged to apply.
Additional Information
- Reports to the Head of Research Services; no supervisory responsibilities.
- Hybrid schedule eligible (up to one remote day per week during the academic term).
- Occasional evening or weekend campus events may be required.
Starting Salary: $76,806-$99,847 (commensurate with comparable experience)
