Position SummaryThe Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a full-time Imaging Informaticist faculty member at the Open Rank level, in the flex track. The successful candidate will provide clinical imaging application support for radiologists, fellows, and residents. Applicants should have experience supporting Philips Intellispace PACS, advanced image processing applications such as Syngo.Via, MIM, Philips Advanced Visualization, and speech dictation software such as Nuance. Other experiences should include clinical interfaces, application optimization and workflow development, and initiation and/or implementation of new technologies. This position will also develop and implement an AI strategy to improve radiologist efficiency, workflow orchestration, and automated identification of critical findings.

This position will support educational efforts to teach radiology residents and fellows, medical physics graduate students and residents, radiologic technologists, and informatics personnel. The successful applicant should have a passion for teaching, experience and/or a degree in education, and be interested in developing new curricula. This position is responsible for creating educational material for virtual and in-person courses. Furthermore, the candidate will be interested in supporting research involving image analysis, AI, or data science, and may lead or support grant funded research projects.

The ideal candidate will join a growing team and work collaboratively with informaticists, data scientists, medical physicists and radiologists. Applicants must be certified imaging informatics professionals, have a degree in education, and have at least 5 years of experience in a clinical imaging informatics environment. Qualifications:

  • Degree in Education
  • Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP)
  • 5 years of experience in a clinical imaging informatics environment

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Prior experience at an academic medical center
  • Doctor of Education
  • Certified PACS Associate
  • Prior experience working with radiology residents
  • Prior experience with vendor neutral archives
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
