The School of Social Work at Marywood University (Scranton, PA) invites applications for the Director of BSW Field Education position.

Responsibilities
- Provide program leadership: Ensure the BSW field program meets CSWE accreditation standards and all Marywood policies.
- Educational assessment: Collaborate with the BSW Program Director and the School’s Educational Assessment process to design, implement, and analyze outcome-evaluation tools for field instruction.
- Agency partnerships & compliance: Review, approve, and maintain current Affiliation Agreements; liaise with University legal counsel to keep language current.
- Risk management: Manage professional liability insurance coverage for students and faculty in field placements.
- Student placement & support: Develop and implement procedures for assessing student readiness and matching students with practicum sites; advise and mentor BSW students and hold regular office hours.
- Teaching (8 courses/academic year): Create syllabi, learning outcomes, rubrics, and engaging course materials for field-related courses; evaluate student performance and maintain FERPA-compliant records.
- Documentation & data: Maintain field files, databases, and communications in collaboration with support staff; regularly update field manuals, forms, and web content.
- Service & administration:
- Serve on School, University, and professional committees.
- Represent MUSSW in local, regional, and national field-education and social-work organizations.
- Help coordinate the Social Work Advisory Council.
- Contribute to recruitment, marketing, budget planning, accreditation, and other program initiatives.
- University citizenship: Attend commencement, faculty meetings, in-service workshops, and other required University events.
Minimum Requirements
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited program (PhD or DSW preferred)
- Five (5) years of post-MSW practice experience
- Social Work licensure
- Demonstrated knowledge of CSWE field-education standards
- Prior teaching or field-education experience preferred
The BSW Field Director’s primary responsibility is leading the BSW field program; teaching assignments will be field-related and based on expertise and program needs. Review of applications begins immediately and continues until the position is filled. Appointment starts August 18, 2025.
