Job description

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Arnold School of Public Health (ASPH) at the University of South Carolina (USC) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Epidemiology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This recruitment is specifically targeted for candidates with specialized expertise in infectious disease epidemiology with strong potential to develop an independent research program in the epidemiology of infectious disease at the ASPH. The successful applicant will have an earned doctoral degree or equivalent training in epidemiology, demonstrated evidence of high-quality scholarly research, and the potential to successfully compete for external research funding. For the rank of Associate Professor, applicants must have successful track record of competitive external funding in support of research and appropriate teaching experience. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active research program, teach courses in infectious disease epidemiology and other epidemiology courses, mentor graduate students, and contribute to the department and school through professional service.
