The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Professional and Technical Writing, to begin August 1, 2019. Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. by August 1, 2018.

All areas of specialization in Professional and Technical Writing will be considered, with preference given to candidates carrying out multimodal projects in STEM or allied health discourses. Those with experience or interests in community engagement, grant writing, or other public-facing projects will receive special consideration. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, as well as an active scholarly agenda.

Candidates will have opportunities to teach in our new general education curriculum, or in a range of interdisciplinary programs such as Gender and Sexuality Studies, Chicago Area Studies, or Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, among other possibilities.

Founded in 1861, North Central College is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of about 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville, IL.
