Job description

Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Chemistry, Computer and Physical Sciences invites applications for two tenure track Assistant Professor positions in Chemistry.

The successful candidates are expected to be broadly trained with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry or inorganic chemistry. Candidates should have a passion for undergraduate education and can contribute to our existing undergraduate research programs. Teaching responsibilities will include a mixture of freshman level chemistry, core major courses and labs in area of specialty, advanced chemistry courses, and physical science support courses. Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research program. ABD candidates will be considered but must complete their degree by the start date.

Founded in 1909, Southeastern enrolls approximately 3,900 students in 38 undergraduate and 14 graduate degree programs. The university is located in southeast Oklahoma, approximately 90 miles from the Dallas Metro area. The community is close to Lake Texoma and the Choctaw Casino Resort.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred start date is August 1, 2018, and may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods. Review of applications will begin March 1, 2018 and continue until the position is filled.
Employment is contingent upon the results of a national criminal and sex offender background check. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Office of Academic Affairs.
