The successful candidate will be qualified to teach courses in fashion merchandising and apparel design. In addition, the candidate will also be required to contribute in curriculum development, student recruitment, mentorship, advisement and engagement, and research/creative endeavors related to the merchandising or design fields.
The selected candidate is expected to contribute in program evaluation and development, building new and sustaining existing program relationships with industry and the community. The selected candidate is expected to write grants and serve on department, college and university committees.
Qualification: Candidates must have earned a Doctorate degree in fashion/retail/apparel design or closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with an established record of excellent college-level teaching; Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and computer-Aided design; demonstrated research/creative scholarship that includes refereed publications, design submissions; experience in the areas of fashion design, fashion communication and/or fashion systems thinking; and grantmanship record.
