The Department of Life Sciences at New York Institute of Technology seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the areas of inorganic and/or analytical chemistry at the rank of Assistant or Associate professor. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate introductory and advanced courses in general, inorganic, and analytical chemistry lecture and laboratory. The candidates will pursue research in the field of expertise, engage undergraduate students in research, advise students and perform service to the department, university, and community. Projected starting date is Fall 2018 with primary teaching responsibilities at the Old Westbury campus, and with possible, occasional teaching in Manhattan.
A Ph.D. in Chemistry and post-doctoral experience are required; a record of scholarly activity appropriate for the rank; and evidence of successful undergraduate teaching. Demonstration of collaborative and/or interdisciplinary research in is preferred. The successful candidates will demonstrate a potential to attract external funding.
