Salary: Commensurate With Experience
The Rutgers University School of Nursing-Camden seeks applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track Instructor starting July 1, 2018. The position includes a 4-4-3 teaching load for the calendar year (summer, fall and spring), in the undergraduate nursing programs including the traditional, the accelerated and the upper division programs. Minimum Education and Experience
Master’s degree in nursing with preference given to individuals with demonstrated excellence in teaching and progress towards a doctoral degree in nursing. Certification as a nurse practitioner is highly desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey and at least five years of clinical experience in wound, continence and ostomy care, adult health, geriatrics, mental health, pediatrics, or obstetrics. Ideally, clinical experience in a combination of two specialty areas is preferred. Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level is preferred. The ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff and external customers. Strong written and verbal communication and problem solving skills. Ability to demonstrate skill competencies and promote learning in the clinical setting. Experience using innovative instructional methods and technology with an emphasis on developing students’ critical thinking and safe practice in the clinical setting.
Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office products and online learning management such as Canvas/Blackboard/Sakai.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The work involves walking, standing, bending, and assisting patients and students in the clinical setting as needed.
Flexible hours including weekends and evenings will be required. Regular exposure to conditions such as those found in an academic and/or clinical setting.
