Job Summary/Basic Function:
The University of North Texas, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a lecturer position in anthropology, to start in Fall 2018. This is a non-tenure track position with a 4/4 teaching load. The successful applicant will be prepared to teach a variety of undergraduate cultural anthropology courses, including an introductory anthropology course that includes the traditional four fields of anthropology such as World Cultures. Experience teaching immigration, peoples of Europe and, language and culture courses preferred. Applicants are expected to be committed to teaching as their primary focus, and should be able to demonstrate strong and innovative teaching methods and credentials. Committee and student advising responsibilities are also expected. There are no research expectations for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in anthropology, or related field, at the time of application is required

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in anthropology with teaching experience preferred. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in applied anthropology. Preference will be given to those who have experience in developing and teaching web based courses. Geographical area is open, but Europe would be a plus.
