Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Department of Strings (Cello)

Ann Arbor, MI

Duties: Teach cello performance to students from first-year through doctoral levels in all curricula in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance; recruit students of high caliber; maintain national and international recognition as performer and teacher; participate in faculty governance responsibilities, attend faculty meetings, and serve on faculty and University committees as appropriate. It is desirable that the appointee perform on campus in solo and chamber music repertory with faculty colleagues.


Required: Thorough knowledge of repertoire for cello. Sustained and distinguished professional record as a performer and teacher. Demonstrated expertise and experience in teaching by having presented master classes, maintained private studios, and/or served as a faculty member at institution(s) of higher learning. Evidence of the ability to recruit and maintain a successful cello studio. Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

Desired: Complementary area of expertise that contributes to String programs.
