The power of your leadership will shape our future

Originally founded as the Royal Polytechnic Institution in 1838, the University of Westminster has had an incredibly successful past and prides itself on its diversity, its global connections and reputation for innovation. As the world and the higher education landscape changes and shifts, however, we are facing unprecedented challenges. We are therefore looking for an inspirational Vice Chancellor and President to lead us through these challenges and secure our success as a modern, forward-thinking university.

Uniquely, this is your chance to drive a completely new and compelling direction for the entire University. You will immediately assess where we currently are, and where we could be, taking a realistic but ambitious approach. You will focus on improving our student experience to advance our NSS and league table positions, and strengthen student employability. Our staff will remain key to unlocking this success. You will also ensure our continued financial sustainability, securing alternative income streams and reviewing our existing estate, located in London’s West End and Harrow.

A leading professor or practitioner with international impact and influence, you will be resilient and determined with an ability to drive positive change, inspire, persuade and lead. Under your guidance, we will deliver a rewarding staff experience, our teaching will become consistently outstanding, and we will develop distinctive graduates with the knowledge and skills to achieve their personal and professional ambitions and make a difference to the world.
