The Louisiana State University School of Theatre invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Costume Design, with an appointment to begin August 2025. The salary range for this position is $63,000-$65,000 based on experience. Review of applications begins December 2, 2024.

Job Responsibilities:
Teaching coursework in costume design and other areas as needed; supervising and mentoring student designers; contributing to the ongoing development of graduate and undergraduate design/technology curricula

Designing for both the LSU Theatre academic season and Swine Palace professional productions; assisting the costume shop manager with construction and management of costume shop as needed

Maintaining an ongoing professional presence at the regional and national levels; and contribute to the research, artistic, and educational environment at a Research I, flagship university

Provide service and participate in faculty governance

Required Qualifications:
Education Level: MFA

Specific Degree: Costume Design

Degree Substitute: an MFA in costume design or equivalent professional experience

Professional experience; excellent teaching, mentoring, and communication skills; proficiency in collaborative process; and knowledge of costume crafts (including dyeing and painting) and makeup.
