The Department of Asian and Asian American Studies at Loyola Marymount University invites applications for a three-year Teaching Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning August 2025.

We seek candidates specializing in Asian Studies, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: history, cultural studies, women and gender studies, media studies, human geography, cultural anthropology, transpacific and global Asia studies. We expect a candidate who can contribute to departmental curricular needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary scholars within and beyond the department.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses at both introductory and advanced levels in the Asian and Pacific Studies Program and help grow the number of majors and minors in Asian and Pacific Studies. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and strong scholarship or scholarly potential.

A Ph.D. in fields consistent with the position is required by the time of appointment, and the doctoral degree must have been conferred within the last ten years.

The teaching load for this position is 3-3 per year, with an expectation to advise students and to provide service to the department, the college, and the university.
