Job Description

This Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position will be responsible for organizing instruction, classroom management, classroom effectiveness, responsiveness to students, exhibiting professional conduct, advising students, evaluating instruction, and publications utilizing current scholarship, professional development, publications, presentation, performance, external/internal funding, grant proposals, supporting student retention, promoting enrollment enhancement and management, supporting student development, and active participation in University and departmental activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching 9 hours of general chemistry and organic chemistry lecture and lab classes.
  • Independent research in specialized research area.
  • Service to the department, college, and the university.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Department Head.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s in Chemistry or related field.
  • 1- 2 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields
  • Experience in advance level courses in biomedical science areas is preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of computer skills and research tools in chemistry related work
  • Use of power point and other advancement in Instructional Enhancement to promote success in achieving learning outcome.
  • Good communication skills in English.
