William Peace University is seeking a scholar for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Science and Mathematics. The selected candidate will have an interdisciplinary appointment teaching non-calculus based Physics and Mathematics. The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in a Physics laboratory setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teach lecture and lab for non-calculus based course in College Physics as well as mathematics courses to meet enrollment needs. Advise students. The faculty member will teach a full-time credit load and engage in service, research and scholarship, student advising, recruiting and participate in student events. The appointment will be effective July 1 with the non-tenure track, fixed-term Assistant Professor rank.
Master’s degree in Physics with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 hours in Physics/Math). Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and related teaching experience or demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and learning.
Ph.D. in Physics and 2 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
