Olivet College, a liberal arts college in south central Michigan with a long-standing commitment to inclusion and diversity, seeks an Assistant Professor of Psychology to join a rapidly growing psychology program. The position is full-time, location-bound, and tenure track. The successful candidate will teach on-campus and/or online courses within the department, work with students in mentoring and advising, and assist students gain experiential learning to improve opportunities in pursuit of their post-graduation area of interest. Instruction in both classroom and online formats will be expected.

Position Requirements: Earned doctorate in Psychology is required; ABD will be considered. The candidate is required to have demonstrated successful teaching at the undergraduate level. A history of collaborative work with other faculty members is preferred. Experience teaching in-person and online preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in academic program innovation and development as well as demonstrated competence working with culturally diverse groups in teaching, scholarship, and/or service.
Position Responsibilities: Successful candidates are expected to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in psychology in both in-person and online formats. Faculty responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, engaging in scholarly activities, departmental and college committee participation, assessment, program and curriculum development, and other services supporting the college and its mission. Candidates must bring the ability to create a positive learning experience for students, ability to facilitate and assess student learning and ability to engage in a passionate commitment to mentoring students in a collaborative and diverse environment. Full-time faculty members teach 24 credit hours (or the equivalent) per year, with release time available for scholarship per the faculty member’s scholarship plan.
