The Warrior Community seeks a full time faculty member for the Mechanical Engineering Program. This is a tenure track 9-month position responsible for leading the established ABET-accredited ME program and the new MET program. The position includes teaching four ME/MET courses per semester, mentoring ME/MET faculty members, advising students majoring in ME/MET, recommending annual expense, capital, and staffing budgets, collaborating with colleagues to achieve the Institution’s Strategic Plan, and attaining ABET accreditation for the MET program. Additional duties include designing and revising program curricula, delivering effective courses and labs to meet learning outcomes, holding office hours, fulfilling service and professional development requirements, advising and fostering relationships with students, and actively participating in student recruitment and retention.

The ME program is offered in the traditional Day School on the Fort Wayne Campus. The MET program, will be offered in the Day School and online. This faculty position reports to the Dean of Engineering and Computer Sciences.

  • The preferred faculty member chosen will hold an earned doctorate with five years of experience in ME or MET.
  • Candidates with a Master’s degree and eight years of experience in ME or MET or a closely related field will be considered.
  • Experience is defined as the summation of college-level teaching experience, industry engineering experience, and industry management experience.
  • A minimum of one-year College-level teaching experience in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology courses is required.
  • The candidate must show demonstrated evidence of strong people management skills, strong written and oral communication, and strong computer skills.
  • Experience in ABET program accreditation is preferred.
