The SIU Carbondale School of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences is a vibrant and collegial academic unit that provides many opportunities for collaboration with faculty and students from programs in Behavior Analysis and Therapy (ABAI accredited), Clinical Psychology-Adult and Child (APA-accredited), Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited), Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and Applied Psychology.

Position: The School of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences at Southern Illinois University Carbondale ( seeks a full-time, 9-month term, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD from an APA-accredited Clinical or Counseling Psychology program; demonstrated teaching and supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a psychologist, or related licensed profession; demonstrated background in measurement, statistics, and research design.

Duties: The position requires teaching four graduate and/or undergraduate level courses per semester (4/4 Load). Position responsibility will include teaching 4 classes per semester. The exact courses to be taught may include a combination of undergraduate and graduate teaching. In addition to Clinical and Counseling Practicum, graduate teaching needs include Theory and Practice of Group Facilitation, Ethics and Professional Problems in Psychology, Advanced Adult Assessment, Health Psychology, Psychological Measurement, Research Methods for Applied and Professional Psychologists, Vocational Psychology, and Supervision of Psychotherapy. Undergraduate level teaching needs include Helping Skills, Health Psychology, Introduction to Clinical and Counseling Psychology, Psychology of Women, and Abnormal Psychology.
