Rasmussen College is currently looking for an accomplished Master’s or Doctorate prepared nurse who is passionate about helping nursing students succeed in meeting their educational goals. Based on your geographic preference, this Full Time position is open for one or more of our Twin Cities programs; this position can serve our ACEN-accredited Bloomington ADN program from any one of our metro locations (Bloomington main campus, or Blaine or Lake Elmo off-campus instructional site(s)), or can serve our CCNE-accredited pre-licensure BSN program from our Bloomington campus. Instructors are responsible for teaching courses in a variety of modalities while promoting and supporting the vision and mission of Rasmussen College. Instructors will teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter equaling a full-time work schedule.

Minimum expectations for all faculty include focus on the following areas:

  • Teaching Effectiveness: Professionalism, Use of Technology, and Content Expertise
    • Model high standards of professional behavior and communication for students
    • Collaborate with student support personnel providing academic and professional guidance for students
    • Research and utilize digital content in courses to connect students to more resources
    • Utilize online grade books and communication techniques to further engage students in their own learning; use online database tools for communicating with campus personnel and documenting necessary information
    • Facilitate highly effective and engaging learning environments in various teaching modalities including residential, online, FLEX and FLAT, meeting the diverse needs of learners
    • Create and maintain course materials in compliance with College and regulatory requirements
    • Assess student learning, provide feedback and support, and refer student for additional support when necessary
  • Professional Development and In-Service Training
    • Actively participate in community service and College In-Service Training Programs and meetings
    • Participate in professional organizations and professional development activities including webinars, seminars and conferences in field of study
    • Develop, review and adhere to academic policies and procedures for the colleg
    • Actively participate in advisory boards, student organizations and system committees
    • Create, implement and evaluate annual professional development plan

Reporting Relationships:

The Instructor will report to a Dean of Nursing. The Dean of Nursing reports to a Senior Dean of Nursing.

Academic and Clinical Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing is required. Rasmussen College follows the requirements set by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, and the states in which the campuses operate.
  • Active RN license that has never been encumbered
  • Active CPR certification administered by either the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross
  • 2+ years’ clinical nursing experience required
  • Previous teaching/training experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and leadership abilities.
  • Active CPR certification administered by either the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross
  • Proof of professional licenses/certifications, official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution and applicable faculty immunization documentation required.
