This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Health Sciences Division that reports to the Dean of Health Sciences.

Salary: $65,000

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 11413 Category 4)
Current RCIS certification required. Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Minimum of two years full-time clinical experience in CCL lab. Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, applicants with additional certifications such as RVT, RN or RCES preferred. Prior experience with JRC-CVT accreditation preferred. Master’s degree in related field preferred. Previous formal teaching experience preferred. Experience in the course and curriculum development, demonstrated flexibility with the diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Ability to teach in the classroom. Proficient in written and oral communication. Demonstrated occupational competency. Some experience with online instruction a plus. Proficiency in preparation and delivery of instruction, advisement, and curriculum development. Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Cardiovascular courses at a Gwinnett Technical College. Develops program and syllabi, goals, and objectives. Teaches face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes as needed to provide course delivery and scheduling options that promote student retention, program completion and meets accreditation standards. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.   • Observe and evaluate student progress in the clinical/practicum environment
  • Communicates students’ progress to student and appropriate personnel and according to established guidelines.

  • Schedule all students for clinical affiliations and practicums.
  • Manage correspondence relative to affiliations.
  • Orient students to their responsibilities toward the clinical education center and the college.
  • Promote communication between the centers, the college, and program students; visit centers and students as often as practical.
  • Act as a liaison between center and college to assist with student problems and provide consultation.
  • Develop the clinical affiliate and clinical faculty members.
  • Review and evaluate present centers against standards for continued use.
  • Manage the clinical competency system.
  • Evaluates and grades student performance through the competency-based education system used by the program.
  • Edit and revise the competency-based education system used in the program.
