Job Summary
The Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor position is a full-time, 12-month position in the Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Interpreter Training. The position will be tenure-track if hired at the Assistant/Associate rank. This faculty position is located at Troy University’s Augusta, GA location. This position is primarily responsible for teaching specialized graduate courses in the clinical mental health program and core counseling courses within the specific area of expertise; pursuit of a scholarship and research agenda; service on committees at all levels; involvement in service to the community. This position also includes administrative responsibilities such as advising graduate students and supervising Practicum and Internship students, scheduling counseling courses, recruiting students for the program, proctoring and grading comprehensive examinations, attending faculty meetings, and attending required region meetings for faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in counselor education from an accredited institution, with preference given to graduates of a CACREP program
- Licensed as a professional counselor
- Demonstrated ability to conduct a successful program of scholarship and publication
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CACREP accreditation expectations
- Experience teaching in a higher education setting
- Experience as a clinical mental health counselor
- Experience in the rehabilitation field
