Job Summary:

The LLC Department of Muhlenberg College seeks a Part-time Lecturer in Modern Hebrew for a one-year, renewable position, beginning Fall 2020. Native/near native fluency required with at least an M.A. degree in Modern Hebrew or related field.

Muhlenberg College is a student-centered campus that prizes its commitment to teaching in the liberal arts tradition. We seek a dynamic lecturer with the ability to teach language courses at all levels, experience with multi-media textbook platforms, interest in language acquisition pedagogy, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Lecturers take an active role in the life of our department, including a variety of cultural activities and the vision and design for an expanding program. Ability to relate to other aspects of a comprehensive program in Hebrew and Jewish Studies, including literature in translation, is essential. The teaching load is two courses per semester at elementary, intermediate, and/or advanced levels. The College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and service.
