Whittier College invites applications for a Lecturer in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design. This will be a full-time position for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.

Tenure Status: non-tenure track
Exempt Status: Exempt
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Full Time/Part Time status: full-time
Salary Range: $60,000; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Location/Department: Whittier College (Main Campus)/Art and Visual Studies
Whittier College’s Art and Visual Studies department is accepting applications for the position of Lecturer in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design, beginning August, 2022. We seek a candidate with teaching experience, substantial professional design experience, a strong portfolio, and an MFA in hand.The successful candidate will teach courses in graphic design, typography, brand identity design, web design and 2-dimensional design. The ideal candidate should also be able to teach at least one of the following topics: illustration, motion graphics, animation, web development, or UI/UX design. Though not necessary, experience in the fine arts would be an asset, as there is room for collaboration between the department’s studio and graphic design tracks. The successful candidate will teach six courses per year, will serve as an academic advisor and will help the department in supporting the graphic design track.
