The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology ( CSIT ) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track teaching position at the level of Lecturer to begin in Spring 2021. The primary responsibility is to teach a selection of courses in CSIT undergraduate programs. The successful candidate will be expected to bring new concept and interest to teaching. A successful candidate must possess a master’s degree or higher (PhD) in computer science or a closely related field and have teaching and/or industrial experience. Excellent communication skills are required. This is a one Semester appointment. The typical teaching load will be 15-credit-hour on-campus courses.
Teaching Workload: 15 semester hours during the academic year.
In addition to duties associated with teaching, service to the department, college and university is expected. The faculty member is also expected to participate in continuing professional development related to the discipline.
Minimum of an earned master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computer science and/or information technology. Must be able to teach computer programming courses and a variety of courses in computer science and/or information technology
In addition to academic credentials, industry credentials such as Cisco CCNA and/or CISSP certification, and/or recent industry experience are desirable.
