Department of Italian Studies
The Department of Italian Studies at UC Berkeley welcomes applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach Italian Studies courses, should a departmental need arise, in any of the following possible areas:
- Italian Language
- Reading and Composition (first- and second-year undergraduate writing courses in English on Italian topics, using Italian literature in translation)
- Italian Literature and/or Culture (may include History, Film, Politics, and/or other related topics)
General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and interacting with students outside of class time via email and campus web based course resources.
UC Lecturers are academic appointees in an organized bargaining unit and are exclusively represented by American Federation of Teachers – Unit 18.
