Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The Department of English at Kennesaw State University is committed to excellent teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and the community. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for one semester (fall or spring) or nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor of English faculty positions in the Department of English that begins August 2023.

Responsibilities

  • Teach general education English First-Year Composition courses.
  • Faculty teach courses in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and asynchronous online.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have, at minimum, a Master of Arts degree, or its foreign equivalent, in English (or a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in English). Applicants without a terminal degree will be hired at the Instructor rank, whereas those with a terminal degree will be hired at the Assistant Professor rank. Required degree must be earned by start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching college composition and/or tutoring in college writing centers
  • Coursework in rhetoric and composition
  • Experience teaching diverse populations
  • Experience teaching in online and/or hybrid modalities
