Overview

Teach non-credit courses for adult learners following the designated Workforce Development curriculum on a part-time basis. Potential topics include project management, front-line supervisor, mid-level manager, teamwork and cooperation, workplace improvement, employee engagement, conflict resolution.

Schedule:Casual part-time position, hours will vary per week.
Must have availability during business hours (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Formal related training or education, or 5 years on-the-job experience. (Minimum)
  • Bachelor’s degree. (Desired)

Experience:

  • Five (5) years related experience. (Minimum)
  • Relevant teaching experience. (Desired)
  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff in related field. (Desired)

Abilities and Skills:

  • Ability  to maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in related topics. (Minimum)
  • Ability to provide instruction in subject area for which hired. (Minimum)
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, and the public.(Minimum)
  • Strong observation and problem solving skills. (Minimum)
  • Ability to work independently.  (Minimum)
  • Functional ability with computers and Microsoft Office programs. (Minimum)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. (Minimum)

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-credit classroom/virtual instruction using provided curriculum. (Essential)
  • Identify student performance problems as they surface and consult with staff for resolution of the problem. (Essential)
  • Assist other non-credit instructors and school administrators with course development, coordination, and maintenance. (Essential)
  • Provide feedback to students and complete program evaluations. (Essential)
  • Maintain daily attendance records. (Essential)
  • Secure materials needed for instruction. (Essential)
  • Develop lesson plans; prepare assignments, supplemental teaching materials, sample tests, etc. (Essential)
  • Attend instructor orientation, training, and professional development as required. (Essential)

  • Candidates for teaching positions must be fluent in the English language (oral and written), English Fluency in Higher Education Act (PA Senate Bill 539/Act No. 76).

Pay Transparency

$55/hour
