Summary of Position

The School of Business invites qualified applicants to apply for a full time, 9-month, Non-Tenure Track Teaching Faculty or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor to commence in January 2022 or August 2022. We seek a dynamic colleague committed to teaching excellence, student development, and service.

The School of Business offers ACBSP-accredited undergraduate degrees in business administration, accounting, finance, management, marketing, and sports management, and a number of related undergraduate and minors and certificates. Plymouth State University graduate programs include a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science in Accounting. Our business programs have a track record of providing relevant, experiential and applied learning experiences that challenge students and prepare each for career success.

The tenure-track candidate will be responsible for teaching 24 credit hours per year plus scholarship. The Teaching Faculty positions are full time, with benefits, funded on a year-to-year basis, carry a teaching load of 30 to 32 credit hours per year as well as service expectations (but are not required to participate in research), and are eligible for promotion to a senior teaching faculty rank.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field (for non-Tenure Track).
  •  Experience teaching undergraduate-level operations management during the last two-to-five years.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate-level contemporary business and management topics.
  • Demonstrated teaching proficiency or potential for excellent teaching.
  • Ability to serve as an academic advisor and mentor for undergraduate students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position:

  • Terminal degree in related field (ABD’s will be considered).
  • Established record (or demonstrated potential for establishing an agenda) of research/scholarship.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional work experience in operations management or business leadership roles preferred.
  • Ability to engage with a wide variety of learners, including first-generation students.
  • Participation in collaborative projects and programs with faculty and students.
  • Experience integrating technology to enhance student learning.
  • Experience with curriculum design and innovative course delivery strategies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
This faculty position includes teaching (undergraduate and graduate courses), student advising, and service internal and external to the campus. For the Tenure-track position, responsibilities also include active engagement in scholarship.

The new faculty will teach courses in the Operations Management area, as well as other management courses for undergraduate and graduate programs.
