Job Summary:
The Part-Time Business Tutor provides tutoring services to Business students in the business areas with a heavy focus on Accounting, Business Statistics, and Economics.
This is a temporary grant funded position through September 30 year 2025 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Tutors students in Business courses
- Give orientation in the use of lab and use of software
- Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve and assists with their academic needs
- Grades exams as needed
- Assists with preparation of reports for faculty
- Assists Lab Manager
- Attends all tutor trainings
- Performs other duties assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and completion of one (1) specified college discipline course
- All degrees must be from a regionally acccredited institution
- Record of high achievement in courses taken and tutoring
- No experience required; training provided as needed
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate genuine motivation in dealing with people
- Working knowledge in the field of Business
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally in writing with a diverse population
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
