Department Summary
The primary mission of the Economics Department is to contribute to Bridgewater State University’s liberal arts and business education. We educate our students through excellence in teaching, mentoring and advising, promoting undergraduate research, and emphasizing the importance of critical thinking. Essential Duties
The Department of Economics at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified Part Time Faculty who are enthusiastic teachers and dedicated to working with undergraduates for the Fall 2023 semester.
Applicants are sought to teach a range of core courses in the undergraduate major such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Statistics for Economics/Business.
Applicants should possess:
- Enthusiasm for teaching and dedication to working with undergraduates.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities.
- Skill in using technology effectively in teaching and learning.
- Ability to teach in-person, on campus.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in Economics.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Economics preferred.
Teaching experience preferred.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
This position must comply with the University Covid-19 Attestation requirement. All employees must be fully vaccinated and complete the Covid-19 Attestation upon hire.
Medical or Religious Exemptions
An employee may request an exemption to the vaccination requirement based on the existence of medical contraindication to vaccination. In addition, an employee may request an exemption to the vaccination requirement based on a sincere religious belief. In both cases, an employee will be required to submit documentation to support the request for an exemption. Employees who secure an exemption may be required to take additional precautions in the workplace and are strongly encourage to test weekly through the university’s Wellness Center.
