Southern Wesleyan University’s (SWU) College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a part-time affiliate faculty position in it’s Fine Arts Division to teach Strings.  This position is available Fall semester 2020. This is a location bound position, operating on campus at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC.  Affiliate faculty are employed on an as needed basis.

Primary Responsibilities

Teach applied strings to music majors and non-majors. Assist with Chamber String ensemble, teach Strings Methods class, and perform with SWU ensembles when necessary. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs.


  1. Academic. Qualified candidates must have a Master’s (or higher) degree in the teaching field.

  3. Technology. SWU is committed to maximizing the use of technology in its daily operations and in achieving its strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and familiar with the use of technology within the academic environment, including distance learning and learning management systems, web-based, and PC applications, including all Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  4. Pre-employment Screening. Employment is contingent on the completion a criminal background screening.
