Description of the Department or Unit
The Department of Sustainable Technology & the Built Environment is in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. STBE has around 800 majors and offers two undergraduate degrees: the B.S. in Building Sciences and Sustainable Technology. The Department also has a small Masters program offering the M.S. in Technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The teaching load will be 9-12 hrs (3-4 courses) per semester depending on service assignments.
- Teach courses related to construction management with an emphasis on bringing experiences from the field into the classroom.
- Specific course assignments will be determined based on experience.
- Incorporate experience with high-performance buildings and managing projects focused on sustainability into the classroom setting.
- Service assignment may revolve around organizing field trips to construction sites, engaging with student clubs, and/or bringing practitioners to speak in the classroom.
- Summer internship coordination.
- Department’s industry liaison.
This is a time-limited position of 3-years, with the possibility to renew depending on the funding status.
