Responsibilities

The Department of Finance in the College of Business Administration at The University of Akron is seeking applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice, Finance (non-tenure track) beginning Fall semester 2020.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach and contribute to various service activities; teaching four sections of business law classes at the undergraduate level; contributing to the development of teaching material for use in the Social and Legal Environment, Business Law I and Business Law II classes and serving as a mentor for students.  Applicants should have excellent communication skills, a dedication to student success and the ability to work with the professional finance and legal community.  Involvement in departmental and/or university service is expected.

Required Qualifications:

  • A JD and a minimum of three (3) years of prior teaching experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maintenance of professional licenses, including bar admissions and continuing education requirements.
  • Evidence of the ability to contribute to the scholarly activities of the finance department.
