The Music Department of Whitman College is seeking candidates for a one-year position in music, with expertise in choral conducting, at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor (or Visiting Instructor) beginning August 2023. A completed terminal degree in choral conducting or a related field is required for the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor; candidates without a completed terminal degree in choral conducting or a related field will be considered at the rank of Visiting Instructor.

The successful candidate will direct the Whitman College Chorale and Chamber Singers while overseeing affiliated duties, and instruct Music Theory 2 and an introductory course in music appreciation (Music in Society). Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate depth of expertise both on the podium and in the academic classroom.

Salary Range: $64,000-$67,000
