The School of Business at Black Hills State University seeks to hire an assistant or associate professor for a tenure-track position in economics starting fall 2018.
Faculty positions have defined responsibilities in teaching, scholarship/research and service (University, professional, and community). The School of Business is AACSB accredited and offers undergraduate business programs in Professional Accountancy, Business Education, and Business Administration with the following specializations: accounting, economics/finance, entrepreneurial studies, human resources management, management, marketing, and tourism and hospitality management. The School of Business also offers an MBA in applied management.
*Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face and online) in economics and/or business statistics. An occasional course may be offered at the Rapid City branch campus. Teaching load is generally four courses per semester. Summer teaching opportunities are available.
*Engage in appropriate research/scholarly activities.
*Participate in service activities.
*PhD in Economics. ABD’s considered for a term contract at Assistant Professor rank with expectation of completion of doctorate degree within a maximum of one year from the contract start date.
*Evidence of scholarly potential.
*Successful experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
*Strong collegial and collaborative skills.
*Ability to teach online.
*Published in peer-reviewed journals.
