Briar Cliff University of Iowa, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, seeks applications for a 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Graphic Communications to start in August, 2018. Candidates will have an appropriate MFA in Graphic Design and three years of professional/teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities include a 24-hour teaching load including: typography, graphic communications, information graphics, graphic design production I-III, and history of graphic design. Other graphic design courses may be taught based on the candidate’s area of expertise. Graphic communications is one of two programs (with digital communications) in the department of Digital Communications. The successful candidate will oversee the department’s state-of-the-art Integrated Multimedia Lab. The lab includes Mac computers, high-end photo and graphics printers, and the complete Adobe Cloud software collection. The candidate will also serve as advisor to students majoring in graphic communications.
