Description of Duties: Responsibility teaching 3/3 course load in a CSWE accredited Collaborative MSW program teaching across the curriculum in generalist and advanced level courses, including policy, practice and field seminars. The faculty member will report to the chairperson of the Department of Social Work. Responsibilities also include participation in the advisement of students, governance, scholarship, service, committee work and other assigned duties.
Doctorate in Social Work or a closely related field from a US Dept of Education or internationally recognized institution. ABD candidates will be considered. ABD must be completed within 6 months of hire. MSW degree from a CSWE accredited institution and significant experience in post-MSW direct social work practice; demonstrated teaching proficiency and experience; demonstrated ability for research and scholarly activities; demonstrated commitment to work with culturally diverse populations. The position requires the ability to teach policy, practice and courses across the curriculum. A NYS Social work license at the LMSW level is required within one year.
It is preferred that the candidate have graduate social work teaching experience, and be able to utilize information technology in the classroom, have a record of success in obtaining external funding, and demonstrate community and professional service experience.
