Tenure-track mechanical engineering faculty position. The Engineering Department at the University of Tennessee at Martin invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, at the Assistant Professor (PhD) or Instructor level (MS with design experience) of Mechanical Engineering. The department offers a BSE with concentration in Mechanical Engineering, as well as Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, and Engineering. Preference may be given to candidates with professional expertise, and the demonstrated ability to teach courses, in solid mechanics, kinematics of machines, machine design, and finite element analysis. Primary responsibilities include teaching, mentoring design projects, advising, and staying professionally current through directing, conducting, and publishing results of applied research or developing and reporting on innovative instructional techniques. This is an exciting time to join the faculty at UTM as work has begun on the new 120,000 square foot Latimer Engineering and Science Building. Additionally the faculty have begun the process of creating a new Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree (BSME).
