Job description

The German Program in the Department of German and Russian at Colby College seeks to fill a one-year position (faculty fellow, 4 courses) beginning on September 1, 2018. Ph.D. preferred. Specialization open. Comparative or interdisciplinary focus desired, for possible courses in English in other programs. Proven success in teaching German language courses is expected. Familiarity with the textbook Auf geht’s is preferred. Must have native or near-native fluency in German. Promise of ongoing scholarly engagement is an advantage. The successful candidate should have a strong and demonstrated interest in liberal arts education. Colby is particularly interested in candidates who have a record of success advising and mentoring individuals from groups under-represented in higher education.
